The article publishes materials from the All-Russian urban census of 1917 for the city of Zlatoust, the Ufa province, for the first time. The study focuses on two streets: a rich one (Klyuchevskaya Street) and a poor one (3rd Odinarnaya Street). The work gives a full composition of inhabitants, reconstructs a history of some families according to surnames, and gives illustrations. The new source, being not used in the scientific literature, contains a vast amount of unique information, which allows one to analyze the social, demographic, and national structure of the population, and shows the development of the city on the eve of the Civil War.
