Abstract Temperature control in neonatology is one of the main concerns in any hospital or health service provider. A newly born infant's body temperature is different from the external world since they come from a regulated temperature area in the mother’s womb. Accurate temperature assessment enables early intervention or treatments of infection or disorder of a thermoregulatory system. An infant incubator, radiant warmer and embrace warmer are being used for the thermoregulation of neonates. In Gondar university specialized hospital there are limited number of infant incubators and automatic radiant warmers since they are very costy to own. On contrary there are a many number of manual radiant warmers with the drawback of always being on state of on or off, they didn’t have any mechanism to regulate the environment temperature. Optimizing the currently existing radiant warmer is a cost-effective way to feel the gaps of the currently available devices. An electronic system design and simulation which automatically measures the temperature of the environment and act accordingly is done using proteus and Arduino IDE together. By designing the circuit using proteus, by writing the instruction (algorithm) using arduino IDE then by loading the Arduino algorithm in to the Arduino UNO component in the proteus the simulation of the project was done successfully. The result of the simulation showed that the electronic system designed was successfully controlled the environmental temperature with the temperature input via the LM35. While simulating the controlling action was visible and exactly as needed.
