Back analysis of monopile driving records is important for understanding the foundation behaviour during driving, optimising the installation procedures and reducing installation related risks. A database has been developed that includes almost 700 monopiles from 13 offshore sites located across the North and Irish Seas. The driving records have indicated that the existing driveability methodologies fail to correctly capture the observed driving behaviour of large monopiles in terms of blow count rate and static resistance to driving (SRD). Back analysis of driving records using industry standard SRD methodologies are undertaken and sensitivity assessments are performed to identify the effect of different parameters on the accuracy of the installation methods. The trends identified are described and the need for a new SRD methodology is discussed. This publication presents the database constituting the base for the development of the new Mono-Drive SRD method (Stergiou et al., 2023) based on the methodology presented by Perikleous et al. (2023).
