The need for eff ective development of coordination and conditioning physical abilities of girls of secondary school age 12–14 years is substantiated. A brief description of the experimental step aerobics program is presented, which promotes the optimal development of coordination and conditioning abilities of students. As an example, an approximate set of special exercises using a step platform is given, aimed at developing the coordination abilities of girls aged 12–14 years. The results of a questionnaire survey aimed at identifying the degree of demand for step aerobics, in comparison with other types of physical activity, among middle school students are partially described. The level of development of con-ditioning and coordination physical abilities of girls aged 12–14 years in the process of the pedagogical experiment is considered as criteria for assessing the eff ectiveness of the experimental program. The purpose of the study was to de-velop and experimentally substantiate a program for the development of coordination and conditioning physical abilities of girls aged 12–14 years in the process of extracurricular step aerobics classes. Results and its discussion. The results of a questionnaire survey of children of secondary school age, aimed at identifying the degree of demand for the use of step aerobics in the educational environment of schoolchildren aged 12–14 years, are presented. The level of integral physical and coordination readiness of girls aged 12–14 years was assessed, and a comparative analysis of control exer-cises was carried out. The dynamics of the growth rate of indicators of general and coordination readiness of girls aged 12–14 years is shown. Conclusions. It has been proven that regular health-improving step aerobics classes based on a developed experimental program, organized during extracurricular activities, have a positive impact on the development of coordination and conditioning physical abilities of girls aged 12–14 years.
