Co‐driver display is becoming a trend of in‐vehicle display as an entertainment purpose for passengers. In order to ensure the safety driving, privacy mode is required not to distract driver in conjunction with a switchable function to public (sharing) mode. This paper presents a switchable privacy LCD utilizing an efficient edge‐lit system which allows high privacy performance, high homogeneity of front‐of‐screen (FOS) and low power consumption.
