Abstract: Russia's invasion of Ukraine has shaken up international relations in Eurasia as major powers vie for influence in the region. In the face of an intensification of Russian and Chinese efforts to dominate the Central Asian region, closer policy coordination between Japan and the United States in Central Asia is recommended, not just to counter Russian and Chinese dominance in the region, but also to support the establishment of greater Central Asian regional agency in dealing with foreign affairs.
