Catfish play a significant role in the fishing industry, particularly for daily consumption. However, catfish farming faces challenges, especially in maintaining water quality in aquaculture ponds. Key factors affecting water quality are ammonia levels and water temperature. Ammonia, produced from leftover feed, fish waste, and other impurities, is toxic, while temperature fluctuations can stress catfish, weaken their immune systems, and cause disease. To optimize catfish farming, researchers use the Internet of Things to monitor ammonia levels and pond temperatures in real-time. Their study found that when the water temperature exceeds 26°C, the pump shuts off, and when ammonia levels exceed 5 NH3, the aerator activates to remove ammonia from the pond.
