The article discusses the process of growing long annual and forked biennial branches of apple and pear trees in special intensive cuttings mother plantations. In the course of the research work carried out, it was revealed that in intensive cuttings of the vertical type, it is possible to successfully grow several types of apple and pear cuttings: ordinary cuttings, one-year forked cuttings, two-year forked branches. Cultivation of two-year-old branches makes it possible to obtain from them three-year-old seedlings or seedlings on skeleton-forming plants, including multi-varietal ones, in one year. The use of a two-tier system for the formation of mother plants in the mother plantations can significantly increase the yield of cuttings per unit area.
