Currently, systems for measuring the oil quantity and quality (OQMS) are used for commercial oil metering. They are quite complex measuring systems including a large number of measuring chan-nels for both the main technological parameters - temperature, pressure, volume or mass flow, and the physical properties of oil - density, viscosity, moisture content. Any measuring tool has some error, which, for various reasons, may go beyond the specified limits, although the performance of the meas-uring tool itself is not impaired. There is a so-called metrological failure, the detection of which is rather a difficult task. The article suggests using the multiple correlation coefficient calculated in real time as a diagnostic tool. Studies of the model obtained on the basis of real measurement results ob-tained on the OQMS measuring line have confirmed this approach feasibility.
