This paper presents a broadband millimeter-wave planar magnetoelectric (ME) dipole antenna. By intro-ducing an E-shaped feeding branch underneath the main radiating patch, a broadband ME dipole antenna with an ultra-low profile of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0.086λ₀</tex> (where <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">λ₀</tex> represents the free-space) is obtained. A simulated impedance bandwidth of 19.3% (23.4-28.4 GHz) is obtained from the proposed antenna. Across the impedance bandwidth, the ME dipole also shows good radiation characteristics.
