In this article, we focused on developing an application to achieve stunning visuals of the digitised campus of the University of Zilina. We discussed various tasks, but our primary focus was on optimisation. We analysed the executed steps that led to the final release version of the 3D application developed in Unreal Engine. Few steps were taken to achieve proper optimization using state-of-the-art techniques. This article discusses the individual stages of development for optimization. The key factor in our optimisation was the use of a plugin that converted dynamic vegetation shadows to static shadows. This preserved the movement of the vegetation, but vastly improved the application's performance. The Shadow Foliage Imposters plugin boosted performance by approximately 52%, compensating for the additional load of dynamic vegetation assets.
