This paper discusses SAW velocity reduction and transverse mode suppression by the use of low-cut LT/69°Y90 o X quartz configuration. It is shown that owing to the flattened SAW slowness curve, transverse resonances can be suppressed well except for the hybrid modes caused by the coupling between SH and Rayleigh mode even when the SAW velocity is reduced significantly.
