Forensic science is the study of sample found in traces at the scene and correlating it to identify culprit among suspects of the crime. Raman Spectroscopy is preferred choice for forensic scientist due to its reliability, versatility and other advantages over other analytical techniques. It is non-destructive, non-invasive and in-situ analytical technique which can be used as an evidence in forensic cases. It requires small amount of sample with no sample preparation, provides high degree of sample discrimination and results obtained are easy to store as a database for future references. The evidences obtained from crime scene can easily be analyzed without any alteration and diffusion of minor details. This paper discuss different types of Raman Spectroscopy and its potential in Forensic Analysis of samples.
