We investigate the electronic Raman scattering of <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><a:msub><a:mrow><a:mi>Sr</a:mi></a:mrow><a:mn>2</a:mn></a:msub><a:msub><a:mrow><a:mi>RuO</a:mi></a:mrow><a:mn>4</a:mn></a:msub></a:math> using a material-realistic dynamical mean-field theory approach. We identify the low-energy Fermi liquid behavior and point out that the enhanced Raman response at higher energies is a fingerprint of Hund metals. These signatures originate in the two-stage coherence of Hund metals and associated quasiparticle “unrenormalization.” In agreement with recent experimental observations, we find the <b:math xmlns:b="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><b:msub><b:mi mathvariant="normal">B</b:mi><b:mrow><b:mn>1</b:mn><b:mi>g</b:mi></b:mrow></b:msub></b:math> and <d:math xmlns:d="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><d:msub><d:mi mathvariant="normal">B</d:mi><d:mrow><d:mn>2</d:mn><d:mi>g</d:mi></d:mrow></d:msub></d:math> responses differ, but our calculations suggest a novel interpretation of this dichotomy. The <f:math xmlns:f="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><f:msub><f:mi mathvariant="normal">B</f:mi><f:mrow><f:mn>1</f:mn><f:mi>g</f:mi></f:mrow></f:msub></f:math> response is dominated by the <h:math xmlns:h="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><h:mrow><h:mi>x</h:mi><h:mi>y</h:mi></h:mrow></h:math> orbital and the <i:math xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><i:msub><i:mi mathvariant="normal">B</i:mi><i:mrow><i:mn>2</i:mn><i:mi>g</i:mi></i:mrow></i:msub></i:math> response receives contributions from all orbitals and is strongly affected by previously unnoticed finite-frequency interband nesting. We calculate the vertex-corrections to Raman response and show that their effect is nonvanishing but small. Published by the American Physical Society 2024
