Laser impact forming (LIF), in which a shock wave deforms a thin plate, is studied. The LIF process is simulated using the finite element method. It is established that the maximum bending curvature of the plate can be obtained by adjusting the overlap coefficient of laser spots, the number of repeated laser pulses, and the power density of the laser beam.
