Introduction It is known that the oblique eye axis plays a severe role in the perception of beauty and there are gender- and age-specific differences in what is considered attractive. With the elevated influence of social media on young patients, current beauty standards are portrayed and compared on the ordinary. As a result there are less inhibitions on undergoing medical procedures in order to achieve ones wishes regarding the facial appearance. The aim of this analysis is the description of contemporary trends in eye shapes.
