Improving theoretical approaches to determining the causes of socio-economic differentiation of Russian regions remains today one of the pressing topics in domestic regional studies. Disproportions in the main economic indicators of regions sometimes reach double-digit values, and progress in eliminating interregional inequalities is not visible.
