This paper presents the design and implementation of a compact frequency-and radiation pattern reconfigurable patch antenna integrated with 4 PIN diodes on FR - 4(ε=4.4 and height =1.6 ~mm) substrate measuring 30 ~mm × 40 ~mm. The antenna is engineered to dynamically adjust its operating frequency, catering to the evolving demands of modern wireless communication systems. By leveraging Defected Ground Structure (DGS) techniques, the antenna achieves enhanced performance. Notably, the integration of PIN diodes facilitates seamless frequency reconfiguration across distinct frequencies while maintaining a compact size. Simulated results demonstrate the antenna's efficacy in reliably operating across the designated frequency range, showcasing its suitability for diverse applications. This work significantly advances the field of reconfigurable antenna technology, offering a compact, cost-effective solution tailored to address the evolving challenges of wireless communication systems.
