Abstract:Research in education plays an important role in maintaining curiosity and training skills. It is primarily used in the classroom, but can also be found in everyday life without us even realising it. The research work includes the views of young researchers from Slovenian secondary schools who participated in a research assignment within the Association for Technical Culture of Slovenia (ATCS) between the years 2010 and 2017 and won the gold award. We found that carrying out the research assignment helped the young researchers on their path in life and on their way to success. The correlation test of the chosen research pool showed that there is no statistically significant relationship between the chosen research area in secondary school and further university or professional orientation.
