Software development companies live in a competitive environment, in which innovation can be a differential, even a matter of survival. Thus, ideas, also considered "insights" for new solutions and improvements of current products, are one of the great riches of companies in this segment. The objective of this work is to apply the “ Upstream ” Kanban management in the management of the activities of the research cell of a company in the software development sector. The analyzed company created a study cell to evaluate and generate new insights, via market research and customer feedback. However, like any beginning of a new process, the management of this new cell presented deficiencies, which were evaluated in this study. In this scenario, the market study presents tools that can help this new process, maintaining the main characteristics of the agile culture applied in the company. In this case, the “ Upstream ” Kanban management was selected . To achieve the proposed objective, a case study was carried out, through analysis of current processes, in order to present a new process using the concept of " upstream " Kanban , aiming to apply it and monitor the results obtained, ending the work with a comparison with the main changes and improvements in processes, organization and visibility of activities. Regarding the applied management, benefits were obtained in relation to the organization and visibility of activities, thus presenting an effective effort to one of the great riches for a software company that are the "insights".
