Application of design thinking improves usability in student admission, suggesting enhanced user engagement.
With the advancement of time, technology has transformed how people live and interact, including in the student admission process. Universitas Trilogi has developed a website to facilitate this process, but certain shortcomings in information presentation and navigation hinder the user experience. Therefore, this research aims to optimize the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of the website using the Design Thinking methodology. This methodology consists of the following stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. It was chosen for its ability to identify innovative solutions that focus on user needs and preferences. An effective interface design can help prospective students better understand the information presented and enhance the efficiency and quality of their interactions with the admission system. The testing phase uses the System Usability Scale (SUS), a measurement tool that evaluates the usability of a system, product, or service. It provides a numerical score based on a series of questions designed to capture users' perceptions of system ease of use. This scale is simple, quick, and efficient, making it a popular choice in research for gaining insights into user satisfaction and potential interface issues. The average score obtained from this study is 73.125. According to SUS interpretation, this score indicates that the system has a "good" level of usability, though there is still room for improvement. The results of this study are expected to contribute to creating a more intuitive and user-friendly student admission system at Universitas Trilogi.
