This study aimed to report a 56-year-old man with right flank pain for half a month. Computed tomography (CT) scan of the right kidney showed round-shaped, homogeneous solid mass (6.2×5.1 cm). The tumor was suspected as renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Radical nephrectomy (RP) was then carried out. The tumor tissue was originated from the renal capsule. In dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS), poly-tumor giant cells and adipoblast cells could be found. The patient was recovered well after 8 months of follow-up. The clinical and imaging findings of renal DDLPS lack specificity. Surgery remains the main treatment for DDLPS.
