Microblepharon is a congenital condition characterized by severe vertical shortening of the upper and lower lid length. It is associated with lagophthalmos and exposure-related corneal complications like infections. It occurs either as an isolated condition or in association with multiple systemic abnormalities. The prognosis depends upon the severity of the defect and age at which the child is presented to an ophthalmologist. Further, this condition has to be differentiated from ablepharon, which needs immediate attention with surgical intervention. This case report emphasizes the need for early intervention in such case scenarios and provides a review of literature.
