The integration of millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology in 5G networks encounters high levels of local oscillator phase noise. Despite the advantages of applied technologies in OFDM sytems concerning a data transmission rates improvement and reducing interference, challenges such as signal distortions remains at higher modulation orders. By addressing these challenges, wireless networks can better cope with the growing demand for data transmission and network bandwidth. This paper presents an algorithm to overcome phase noise through a novel time-domain iterative phase noise mitigation method. At first, local oscillator phase noise estimation problem is formulated in terms of maximum a posteriori probability criterion. Subsequently, a solution to the problem based on the iterative Newton's approach is proposed. The proposed algorithm secures a noticeable phase noise suppression quality of the high order modulation OFDM systems in the high signal-to-noise-ratio scenario. The performance of the proposed phase noise mitigation method is verified by numerical results.
