More than three centuries ago, Isaac Newton laid the foundations of physics by discovering that the language of Nature is mathematics. Could it be that non-physical phenomena pertaining to the domain of psychology or even religion are also based on mathematical principles? In this work we propose a mathematical model that captures the essential features of the great spiritual traditions of the world in their full diversity. The model simultaneously establishes a solid theoretical foundation for psychology, providing continuity between ordinary psychological experience and spiritual realization. The proposed model borrows generously from several branches of mathematical physics, including quantum information theory and fluid dynamics. Whereas in physics the connection between experiment and theory is fairly straightforward, relating one's psychological experience to mathematical Reality is more of an art form and requires intelligence capable of interpreting metaphor. Thanks to centuries of investment in both arts and sciences, our understanding of human life and its purpose can now be brought to a new level.
