Ecological transition, what does it really mean?

Ecological transition is a process that aims to initiate a new economic, cultural and social system that will make human societies more sustainable.Important tool for the implementation of this transition is the United Nations 2030 Agenda, which sets out in detail the urgent ecological measures required to combat climate change and protect the environment; these include the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, complete decarbonization, the adoption of advanced technological solutions and the use of renewable sources. Schools are called upon to raise students' awareness of these issues.As part of teacher training, an experimental course was undertaken with experimental activities to reflect on some of the causes and consequences of environmental warming in order to gain a greater awareness of how seemingly disjointed phenomena are actually interdependent within the Earth's complex ecosystem. The course provided an opportunity to experiment with different teaching approaches including IBSE (inquiry-based science education).
