This paper presents the construction of 2:1 MUX-based XOR and XNOR logic gates where the all-optical 2:1 Multiplexer (MUX) is constructed using nonlinear ac Kerr-type material. To construct this scheme the Shannon decomposition theorem is employed here. The proposed photonic MUX-based XOR and XNOR gates demonstrate rapid response times (terahertz speed), an all-optical design, reduced circuitry cost, and independence from Karnaugh map complexities. A positive logic system is utilized here, where a light signal's predetermined intensity denotes binary 1, and its absence represents binary 0. Validation through mathematical computations and PYTHON simulations establishes the efficacy of the proposed approach. This research holds promise for applications in industrial and commercial contexts, offering enhanced performance and versatility.
