Written, in particular, hagiographic literature stores the most important data for studying a number of questions of the life and culture of ancient Georgia. Finally, when describing the events in each text, different accents are placed and the amount of ethnographic data in the works is also different, but voluntarily or involuntarily, hagiographers collect a lot of interesting information for historians and ethnographers. Considering the abundance of material, in this report the main attention is paid to concrete groups of life realities and ethnographic material: information related to the family, family life; information reflecting the public status of Pityakshes, Queens and other representatives of the feudal estate; terminology reflecting kinship relationship The material presented in the article shows that initial knowledge of ethnology is based on monuments of material and spiritual culture; And "Martyrdom of Tsaritsy Shushanik" by Iakob Khutsesi is one of the outstanding works from this point of view, as the information preserved in it paints a fairly complete and interesting picture of the social life of pre-feudal Kartli.
