Analysis of the Liberal Arts Curriculum at Junior Colleges and Exploration of Improvement Measure through Expert Reviews: Focusing on the Case of S Women's Nursing College

The purpose of this study is to analyze the liberal arts curriculum of S Women's Nursing college, a small specialized college, and to explore ways to improve the liberal arts curriculum through expert review.Previous research on the liberal arts curriculum and the current state of management of liberal arts education in medical and health colleges was examined in this study.Next, standards were prepared for the analysis of the operation status of the liberal arts curriculum and written interview questions were drawn based on the review of previous studies.Based on the review of previous studies, this study was able to investigate the liberal arts curriculum of S Women's Nursing college, and draw written interview questions.Then, experts of liberal arts education were recruited and they participated in the written interviews about the relevance of the liberal arts education system and the organization of liberal arts.The content of the written interview was analyzed using the thematic analysis method, and as a result of the analysis, two major topics and four sub-themes were derived in relation to the liberal arts curriculum system, and two major topics and seven sub-themes were derived in relation to the organization of liberal arts subjects.Finally, the results of the analysis of the management status of the liberal arts curriculum and experts' opinions were combined to explore ways to improve the liberal arts curriculum.This is a meaningful study that it explores and attempts to improve the quality of liberal arts education at a time when the importance of liberal arts education is emphasized.The fundamental information from this study may be used in the future to enhance the liberal arts program.
