The most popular 3D printing materials are Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Poly Lactic Acid (PLA). Due to its exceptional strength, durability, and formability, the thermoplastic polymer carbon fibre reinforced Poly Lactic Acid is frequently employed in the production of frames and tools. It is challenging to employ Fusion Deposition Modelling (FDM) material for engineering applications. Since it inherently has poor mechanical qualities. With this experiment, the desired compressive strength of carbon fibre PLA (CF-PLA) reinforced PLA and carbon fibre PLA reinforced ABS will be obtained. Then added reinforcement in the form of high strength thermoplastic between the matrix material and the FDM component to improve its mechanical qualities. Here, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) are used as matrix materials to reinforce carbon fibre. The design element used for this experiment is infill density. The findings of a compression test analysis show the incorporation of CF-PLA reinforcing material.
