Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can provide an effective and practical communication paradigm for many Internet of Things applications when acting as an intermediary. This cutting-edge technology, modeled after the operating capabilities of IoTs, could be very beneficial in areas where they can access is impossible. IoT devices function in a no-infrastructure environment, interacting wirelessly with one another to share accumulated data in network topological order. Due to their unstructured deployment with wireless and dynamic connectivity, they are vulnerable to several security flaws, which must be addressed for optimal results. This work's primary objective is thoroughly examining the theoretical literature relevant to security risks with this developing technology from 2015 to 2022. We have analyzed numerous security concerns of UAV-aided IoT applications, followed by their mitigation strategies, to identify the current difficulties and requirements of this developing technology paradigm that researchers, the enterprise market, and industry players must address. We have conducted a section-by-section comparison with competing papers to demonstrate how this work differs from theirs in novelty and distinctiveness.
