Reductive stress impairs HDL function and aggravates atherosclerosis progression, highlighting a potential novel mechanism in cardiovascular disease.
Rajkumar et al. (2025) studied Cardiovascular disease with reductive stress. Reductive stress vs. Wild-type / no reductive stress was evaluated on Aortic root diameter (AoR). Reductive stress impaired HDL function and decreased aortic root diameter (0.94 vs 1.5 mm) in a transgenic mouse model, suggesting aggravated atherosclerosis progression.
