This research aims to develop environmental concepts and environmental problem-solving skills among secondary school students using the REACT strategy through liberal reading topics in the Arabic language curriculum. To achieve this goal, the researchers selected five environmental topics in liberal reading in the first year of secondary school, through a review of literature and references. Scientific and environmental research and previous studies. The researchers also developed a list of concepts and a list of environmental problems that are addressed in teaching the proposed topics. Research tools were also prepared, which are a test of environmental concepts and a scale for solving environmental problems. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed topics, a two-group design was used. Experimental and control, with pre- and post-application. The experimental group consisted of 45 first-year secondary school students, as did the control group. The concept test and the environmental problem-solving scale were applied pre- and post-test after teaching the proposed topics. Significant differences were found at the level of (0.01). Between the average scores of the experimental group students before and after in both the test and the scale, while there is no statistical significance between the average scores of the control group before and after. This indicates the effectiveness of using the REACT strategy in developing environmental concepts and problem-solving skills among first year secondary school students, when teaching liberal reading topics, and it is recommended to teach these proposed topics.
