<ns4:p>We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns4:italic>Acrocera orbiculus</ns4:italic> (the Top-horned Hunchback fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Acroceridae). The genome sequence is 221.0 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 18.67 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 10,439 protein coding genes.</ns4:p>
