In pursuing sustained human presence on the lunar surface, one of the paramount challenges is the efficient and reliable power distribution to critical systems. This paper introduces a sustainable DC power distribution architecture specifically engineered for lunar surface applications, featuring the integration of multiple power sources to ensure reliability in the harsh lunar environment. Addressing the unique challenges posed by the Moon's conditions, this research explores the synergy of solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays, regenerative fuel cell (RFC)- based energy storage systems, and other power sources. This paper proposes a 1 MW DC power distribution architecture along with the electrical design of the sources and their associated converters. The effect of radiation and temperature variation on Silicon Carbide (SiC), Gallium Nitride (GaN) power electronic devices, and PV cell parameters in terms of how they affect the circuit design are also explored. Detailed analysis and simulation results validate the proposed architecture and its benefits.
