• Bioactive flavonoids are linked in prior research to the prevention of cancer. • Due to their inhibitory effects on cell survival and proliferation. • Active component of green tea epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) promote anti-cancer. • EGCG could be used a promising therapeutic agent for oral cancer treatment.
