Analysis highlights unique approaches to esg risk management in the oil and gas sector, suggesting diversity in practices.
In this article, the author analyzes the practical experience of implementing ESG risk management practices at the national and global levels. The main goal is to identify approaches to risk management, as well as to determine formats, objectives, and specific features. Special attention is given to the study of non-financial reporting by companies in the oil and gas sector of the Russian Federation. Additionally, the article provides an overview of ESG risk management practices implemented by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). The author concludes that every entity involved in the ESG agenda follows three key aspects: environmental, social and governance. However, unity in this regard does not imply following a specific format for risk mitigation. Formats and approaches are individual, and their number is equal to the number of countries and companies that implement ESG risk management practices.
