This research details the design of an antenna array for GLONASS and GPS reception, highlighting frequency ranges for military and general use.
The GLONASS global navigation system implements frequency division multiplexing (FDMA) of two phase-shift keyed signals emitted by each satellite. This paper presents the development of an antenna array for receiving signals at frequencies intended for military purposes – 1.25 GHz (L1) and general use – 1.6 GHz (L2), and providing operation in a 360-degree horizontal plane sector. In the course of electrodynamic modeling in the computer-aided design system, a patch antenna model was developed that ensures the operation of GPS and GLONASS in the L1, L2 C/A frequency ranges and an antenna array model that ensures the operation of GPS in the L1, L2 C/A frequency ranges and GLONASS in the L1OF, L2OF frequency ranges.
