Research demonstrates effective self-overgrowing methods using recyclable drilling sludge, suggesting improved land reclamation strategies.
The purpose of this work is to study a nature-like technology for activating self-overgrowing of oil-contaminated lands using recyclable drilling sludge as a component of soil-like mixtures for reclamation work. Understanding the mechanisms and specifics of the self-overgrowing process will make it possible to develop measures to accelerate it and thus reduce or eliminate the planned set of measures for land reclamation. The implementation of the considered nature-like technology in conjunction with the hydraulic seeding method shows that phytomixtures adapted to the soil and climatic features of the application are capable of overgrowing in oil-contaminated areas, including on slopes with an angle of up to 45°.
