Assessment of logistics performance reveals challenges in infrastructure and the need for digitalization.
The study examines and investigates the current state of logistics operations at machinebuilding enterprises in the Vinnytsia region. A comprehensive overview of the industry is provided, with a detailed analysis of the logistics infrastructure and its operational processes. The research identifies key challenges arising from external factors and explores the role of digitalization, automation, and innovation in shaping logistics performance. An assessment of the efficiency of logistics activities has been conducted, and evidence-based recommendations for their optimization have been formulated. The study highlights innovative technologies implemented by industrial enterprises in the region and analyzes the condition and development of transport infrastructure as a critical component of supply chain management. To enhance the efficiency of logistics operations at machine-building enterprises in Vinnytsia, the authors propose several strategic development directions: comprehensive modernization of logistics infrastructure, particularly by stimulating investment in the construction and upgrading of Class «A» and «B» warehouse facilities in the Vinnytsia region, taking into account the specific storage requirements of machine-building products; addressing the shortage of qualified personnel through the development and implementation of joint training and retraining programs with Vinnytsia National Technical University, Vinnytsia Cooperative Institute and other educational institutions, with an emphasis on competencies in logistics, mechanical engineering, and digital technologies; strengthening logistics resilience and operational efficiency through digital transformation, notably by implementing integrated ERP, WMS, and TMS systems for centralized logistics management and real-time inventory tracking; optimizing supply chains and international trade operations, along with fostering strategic partnerships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to outsource complex logistics functions, thereby enabling enterprises to focus on their core manufacturing activities; promoting public-private partnerships and enhancing investment attractiveness by creating favorable conditions for attracting capital into logistics infrastructure development.
