The activity of reciting the Koran at weddings in Indonesia has become a common activity and is no longer taboo, as happened at the Tahfidz Bani Yusuf Islamic Boarding School in Malang. This article focuses on discussing Al-Qur'an prayer activities before the marriage ceremony at the Tahfidz Bani Yusuf Islamic Boarding School, analyzed using Max Weber's theory of social action. This research method is qualitative with data sources based on interviews and literature reviews. The data processing method used is descriptive-analytical, namely describing the data that has been obtained and then analyzing it using established theories. The research results of this article are: 1) traditional social action, the aim of the students carrying out Al-Qur'an recitation activities is to preserve the traditions that have previously been passed down by their kiyai. 2) Instrumental rational action, it can be seen that students have the capacity to carry it out, namely being gifted with memorizing 30 juz mutqin of the Al-Qur'an. 3) rational value of action, there is a value to be achieved by preserving this tradition, namely obtaining blessings for the marriage that will take place. 4) affective social action, showing that students have an emotional bond with their predecessors who have carried out these activities so that their marriage is as blessed as the marriage carried out by their predecessors.
