Analysis reveals biometric identification enhances digital identity security in banking, suggesting increased digital inclusion.
The current stage of digital technology development shapes new forms ofinteraction between generations and the development of digital financial services. Theaim of the study is to assess the applicability and effectiveness of biometric identificationtechnologies in the context of digital identity protection, cybersecurity assurance, and theprovision of public services. The main objectives include revealing the digital behaviorcharacteristics of generations, analyzing the applied potential of biometric methods –specifically facial recognition, fingerprint, and retinal scanning technologies - as tools foridentity verification and access and payment authentication in digital environments, aswell as evaluating their role in expanding digital inclusion amid the integration of differentgenerations, service diversification, and technological innovation. The study employs analytical, comparative, inductive, historical-comparative, anddescriptive methods. National identification programs of India, Ethiopia, Congo, andColombia, as well as EU legal regulations and the Republic of Armenia’s “ES EM” digitalplatform, were analyzed. The study concludes that biometric identification technologies increaseidentification accuracy and information security, reduce validation risks, and caneffectively support national digitalization strategies by ensuring the accessibility of digitalservices, digital inclusion, cybersecurity, and technological trust across diversegenerations.
