Mathematical modeling assesses death risk in rescue operations, highlighting potential injury factors.
Purpose. The application of pneumatic jump rescue devices involves a certain degree of risk. The research work analysis in this area has shown that the chance of a person falling onto the edge of the rescue device is not considered. This article proposes a risk assessment method for injury or death in this situation. Methods. Mathematical modeling methods are applied. Findings. Expressions for the quantitative assessment of the risk of death or injury depending on the point of impact on the rescue device are proposed. Based on a mathematical model, an algorithm is developed. It can be used for informational support in decision-making regarding the use of rescue jump devices during rescue operations in firefighting or disaster response scenarios. The implementation of this algorithm will help reduce decision-making time and prevent errors. Research application field. The obtained results can be used to enhance safety during firefighting, emergency rescue operations, and the elimination of consequences of man-made disasters. Conclusions. The degree of risk when using pneumatic rescue devices is quite difficult to assess, as it depends on various factors. The article examines one of these factors and offers options for assessing the risk of death or injury.
