Literature review identifies key trends in geoinformatics, revealing implications for urban planning and infrastructure.
Objective. The aim of this work is to analyze modern trends in the field of geoinformatics, including the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins, new digitalization strategies, and a comparison of surveying equipment from leading manufacturers: Leica Geosystems, Trimble, Stonex, and CHCNAV. Special attention is given to the use of geodata for critical infrastructure protection, business process optimization, environmental monitoring, and the creation of future “smart cities” (Smart City). Methodology. The study employs methods of literature review, analysis of innovative products and technologies in geoinformatics, and a comparison of technical specifications of surveying equipment from four leading companies. The practical applicability of the equipment for various use cases is assessed. Results. The research identifies key development directions in geoinformatics: the implementation of digital twins for modeling real-world objects, the application of geoinformation for critical infrastructure protection and solving environmental challenges, the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction, and the integration of geodata with modern digital solutions. A comparison of Leica Geosystems, Trimble, Stonex, and CHCNAV products reveals the unique advantages and features of each manufacturer, facilitating the selection of optimal equipment for specific tasks. Scientific novelty and practical significance. The scientific novelty lies in the systematization of modern trends in geoinformatics and the first-time comparison of surveying equipment from leading manufacturers, focusing on practical efficiency. The practical significance of the work lies in its potential use for selecting equipment based on user needs across various sectors, including urban planning, infrastructure development, and environmental monitoring.
