This article reveals sexual assistance emphasis in Spanish disability cinema, suggesting new alliances with activism.
In alliance with precarity activism and transfeminist collectives, Spanish disability justice activists advocate for a radicalization of the discourse on rights and organize around the question of desire. Echoing these tendencies, recent Spanish disability cinema openly addresses the sexual needs of people with functional diversity, centering radical care and interdependency. This article offers a close reading of sexual assistance and queer-crip alliances in Yes, We Fuck! (Antonio Centeno and Raúl de la Morena, 2015) and Vivir y otras ficciones ( Living and Other Fictions , Jo Sol, 2016), films that critique the deep roots of disability as a technology of control and domination.
