Proposed method assesses localization of deformation in workpieces, indicating improved thermal treatment processes.
Problems of ensuring the uniformity of the distribution of axial deformation during stretching of cylindrical workpieces, using a new method for assessing the localization of deformation are described. Such an assessment is necessary when designing and carrying out thermal force treatment within the framework of the workpiece stage of the technological process for the manufacture of low-hard long workpieces. It consists in simultaneous heating and deformation, that ensures the formation of workpiece straightness with leveling and a decrease in the level of residual technological stresses. For long workpieces, the distribution of deformations in the axial direction in individual sections along shaft length is characterized by instability, which is associated with the initial heterogeneity of material properties, uneven heating. A method for assessing the localization of deformations is considered, which provides a comprehensive assessment of the uniformity of tension along the length. The influence of the autowave nature of plastic flow on the localization of deformations during high-temperature stretching of workpieces made of alloy 12Kh18N10T is proved.
