This design improves electric field strength and simplifies installation in 10kV cable joints, indicating enhanced reliability.
In power transmission systems, the performance of 10kV power cable intermediate joints is critical, but they often become a weak link due to various influencing factors. Traditional intermediate joints suffer from issues such as complex structures, cumbersome installation, and high risks of insulation breakdown. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel intermediate joint design featuring a locking threaded sleeve. This design utilizes a biconical angle sleeve and mechanical engagement with an explosion-proof shell to convert axial thrust into radial compressive force, while a chamfer-optimized threaded sleeve enhances electric field uniformity and mechanical locking strength. Finite element electrical simulations demonstrate that the electric field strength is lower than the maximum allowable value;finite element mechanical simulations demonstrate that joint exhibits minimal deformation meets mechanical performance requirements. This innovative design simplifies the installation process, enhances reliability, and offers technical support for the safe operation of distribution networks.
