Comparative analysis demonstrates nano fertilizers improve berry quality in grapevines, suggesting enhanced productivity and sustainability.
This study evaluates the effects of foliar-applied nano and traditional macro- and micronutrient fertilizers on yield, cluster physical traits, and berry quality of Superior grapevines over two seasons of 2023 and 2024 under Minia Governorate conditions. Results indicate that nano-fertilizers, especially nano-nitrogen (10 g N/vine/year) and nano-iron (5 ppm/vine/year), significantly enhanced cluster number, weight, yield per vine, and berry setting percentage compared to traditional methods. Nano-fertilization also improved berry physical parameters such as weight and size, while reducing shot berry percentage. As for berries chemical quality, nano-treated grape berries exhibited higher total soluble solids, reducing sugars, and total acidity balance. The study highlights the potential of nano-fertilizers to boost grapevine productivity and fruit quality sustainably, recommending the integration of nano-nitrogen and nano-iron in viticulture practices for optimal results. This approach supports efficient nutrient use while mitigating environmental impacts linked to traditional fertilization
