Analysis reveals positive community attitudes towards ecotourism in Kebesani village, suggesting strong support for forest development.
Forests not only act as providers of ecosystem services, but also have the potential as ecotourism destinations that can improve the welfare of the surrounding community. One form of forest-based tourism management that involves the community is Social Forestry (PS), as implemented in the Ampupu Kebesani Tourism Forest, Ende Regency. Although it has unique natural and cultural potential, the development of this area is still not optimal due to the low understanding and participation of the community in tourism management activities. This study aims to determine the response of the Kebesani Village community to the Ampupu Kebesani Tourism Forest, with 4 focus aspects, namely response, attitude, perception, and participation. This study took place for 1 month in October 2024. There were 55 respondents obtained using the Slovin formula using the Purposive Sampling method and analyzed using a descriptive method. The results of the study showed that the Response, Attitude, Perception and Participation of the community towards the development of the Ampupu Tourism Forest consecutively with values above 93.94% (Agree). The Kebesani Village community strongly supports the plan to develop the Ampupu Tourism Forest, considering that the current condition of the tourism forest is considered concerning. In addition, the Ampupu Tourism Forest is the only tourist attraction in the village, so its existence has important value for the community.
