TEMPO-mediated coupling achieves scalability in synthesizing quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones with imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines, indicating promise for organic synthesis.
A TEMPO‐mediated regioselective C(sp 2 )−H/C(sp 2 )−H cross‐dehydrogenative coupling of quinoxaline‐2(1 H )‐ones with imidazo[1,2‐ a ]pyridines has been developed. The method afforded C3‐(imidazo[1,2‐ a ]pyridine‐3‐yl)quinoxaline‐2(1 H )‐ones in good yields. Metal and photocatalyst‐free conditions, broad substrate scope, scalability, and good functional group tolerance are the salient features of the developed methodology. Based on the control experiments, this reaction is believed to proceed through a radical pathway.
